Asian Cultural Center of Vermont

Client Case Study
Non Profit

The Asian Cultural Center of Vermont (ACCVT) is a non-profit organization that puts on local community events. They recognize, honor and explore the value and relevance of the arts and cultures of peoples across Asia from the Pacific to the Mediterranean and from the Arctic to the Indian Oceans.

In January 2021, ACCVT hired fellow designer Pat Mahaney and I to redesign their logo and website. We corresponded closely with ACCVT trustees to create a new visual identity suitable for their organization.

Branding

Our team carefully chose these colors to represent the ACCVT’s brand as a colorful and multicultural palette. It was important that the colors feel joyful and welcoming, especially because many of the programs provided are geared towards young families and children.

The previous logo was in need of a refresh. The color was good but our team was looking for a way to make the brand more iconic and versatile for display on the web as well as for print.

Using the lotus flower as a symbol for pan-asian culture, and the imagery of a green mountain range, we were able to achieve the desired affect.

Website Design

ACCVT's previous website was outmoded and almost entirely text-based. Our goals were to represent ACCVT as a modern and growing organization, with the hope of membership expansion in the coming years. We wanted the website to be captivating to younger generations in Vermont, as well as easy to navigate for older members.

To supplement the photographs that ACCVT provided, we designed colorful, dynamic wallpapers to guide the design layout of each page.

We also used custom CSS to optimize the design of certain pages to be successful on mobile devices and screens of all sizes.
